Projects affecting historic property go through Historic Preservation Board review, with Minor Review applications carrying a stated 10-day timeline, ending in a Certificate of Appropriateness that has to be provided to Permitting Services before the permit issues.

The city's permitting services list includes Milestone Inspections for condominium and apartment buildings, confirming local administration of Florida's statewide Milestone Inspection Program.

Orlando's other permitting services include right-of-way utilisation renewal for outdoor queuing at bars and nightclubs, temporary certificates of occupancy, tent and scaffold permits, and special event permits covering block parties, loudspeakers and fireworks — a mix that reflects a city built around entertainment districts.
The theme parks are mostly not the city
Walt Disney World sits inside the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, the state-created successor to Reedy Creek, and the resort corridor spans unincorporated Orange County. Very little of what people call “Orlando theme park work” is actually reviewed by the City of Orlando.

City or county? Check the parcel first
Enormous stretches of the Orlando postal area are unincorporated Orange County, reviewed by the Division of Building Safety through OC Fast Track. Winter Park, Maitland, Edgewood and Belle Isle are separate cities again. We settle it from parcel records before anything is prepared.
